ENUGU STATE, NIGERIA —
A visitor to a waterfall in Enugu State has reportedly been left astonished after observing what appeared to be an increase in water pressure as he moved closer to the cascading water. The unusual experience has attracted attention because of the apparent change in the waterfall’s intensity as the visitor approached it. However, NaijaParrot has not independently verified the video or established the exact location where the incident occurred.
Enugu State is home to several natural attractions, including the popular Awhum Waterfall and the Ogbagada Waterfall at the Ezeagu Tourist Complex. Awhum Waterfall is known for its striking rock formations and cascading water, while Ogbagada Waterfall is associated with local accounts of changes in the sound and intensity of its flow.
Waterfalls can appear more powerful when viewed from a closer distance because the sound of rushing water becomes louder and the force of the falling water is easier to observe. Changes in rainfall, water volume, the shape of the rocks and the route taken by the water can also affect how a waterfall looks and behaves. Without examining the footage or knowing the exact location, however, it is not possible to determine whether the water flow actually increased when the visitor moved closer.
The incident also highlights the potential of Enugu State’s natural attractions to draw attention from visitors interested in nature, adventure and tourism. The state government has announced plans to develop attractions including Awhum Waterfall, Ngwo Pine Forest and other tourism destinations to attract more visitors. Visitors exploring waterfalls should nevertheless maintain a safe distance from strong currents and slippery rocks, as water levels and flow conditions can change unexpectedly.
NaijaParrot will provide further details if the original footage and the location of the incident can be verified.
