OSUN GOVERNMENT OPENS RECRUITMENT FOR AD HOC ROAD SWEEPERS, SETS NOVEMBER 12 DEADLINE

 The Osun State Government has announced the immediate recruitment of ad hoc road sweepers as part of efforts to strengthen environmental sanitation and maintain cleaner surroundings across designated locations in the state.

The recruitment exercise, announced by the Osun State Taskforce on Environmental Sanitation, is open to medically fit men and women who meet the stated requirements and reside in the areas where they intend to work. According to the public service announcement issued by the taskforce, applicants must be at least 30 years old, physically able and medically fit to perform the assigned duties. 

 Interested applicants have been directed to submit their application letters to the General Manager of the Osun Waste Management Agency at its office located at the former Boreepo House, West Bye-Pass, Ring Road, Osogbo. The deadline for submitting applications is Thursday, November 12, 2026. 

 The government listed the following locations for the recruitment and deployment of the ad hoc road sweepers: 

 1. Akoda–Abere 

2. Ataoja–Ogo-Oluwa 

3. Olaiya–Old Garage 

4. Igbonna–Ayetoro 

5. Power Line–Ota-Efun 

6. Kobongbogboe 

7. Ataoja–Dele Yes Sir 

8. Stadium–Testing Ground 

9. Ilesa–Garage 

10. Oke-Fia–Dada Estate 

11. Dele Yes Sir–Lameco 

12. Oroki Housing Estate Applicants are expected to ensure that they meet the eligibility requirements and are residents of their preferred areas of assignment. 

 The initiative is expected to support routine road sweeping and complement the state’s broader efforts to improve environmental cleanliness, public health and the general appearance of communities across Osun State. 

 The recruitment announcement follows the state government’s existing environmental sanitation policy under Governor Ademola Adeleke, who previously declared Thursdays as Environmental Sanitation Day across the state. 

 Under the initiative, residents are encouraged to clean their homes and surroundings, while offices, markets, shopping malls and other public places are expected to participate in sanitation activities between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. every Thursday. The government maintains that sustained public participation and effective waste management are essential to achieving a cleaner and healthier environment. 

 The latest recruitment drive is intended to strengthen these efforts by providing additional personnel to support sanitation activities along designated roads and public spaces. The announcement was signed electronically by Hon. Kolapo Alimi on behalf of the Osun State Taskforce on Environmental Sanitation.
