CONTROVERSY AT LAGOS AIRPORT AS TINUBU’S WOMEN AFFAIRS MINISTER FACES SCREENING REFUSAL ALLEGATION

By NaijaParrot October 10, 2026

 LAGOS, NIGERIA —

Nigeria’s Minister of Women Affairs, Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, has reportedly been accused of refusing to undergo security screening at Lagos airport before boarding a Turkish Airlines flight, according to a report attributed to Sahara Reporters. The allegation has raised questions about compliance with airport security procedures and whether the same screening requirements apply to all passengers, including public officials.

According to the report’s headline, the minister allegedly declined to undergo security screening before boarding the international flight. However, NaijaParrot has not independently verified the circumstances surrounding the incident, the specific screening procedure involved or the account of the airport personnel who were reportedly present. It is also unclear from the information currently available whether the minister or her representatives have responded to the allegation.

Security screening is an important part of airport operations, intended to protect passengers, airline personnel and aircraft. Allegations that a public official refused to comply with such procedures require clarification from the relevant authorities to establish what happened and whether any applicable rules were breached. Any conclusion about the minister’s conduct should therefore await verified details and, where available, an official response.

NaijaParrot has not independently established the date of the alleged incident, the flight details or whether the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) or Turkish Airlines has issued a statement. The allegation should not be treated as an established fact without further corroboration.

NaijaParrot will continue to monitor the matter and report verified developments, including any response from the minister or relevant airport authorities.
