BREAKING: FEARS GROW OVER REPORTED ATTACK BY SUSPECTED ARMED HERDSMEN IN TARABA COMMUNITY

 CHANCHANJI, TARABA STATE — Reports of a possible attack by suspected armed herdsmen in Chanchanji community, Takum Local Government Area of Taraba State, have raised fresh concerns about the security situation in the area. The claim, circulating as breaking news, has not yet been independently confirmed by NaijaParrot. Details about the reported incident, including whether residents have been killed or injured and the extent of any damage, remain unclear.

Chanchanji and surrounding communities in Southern Taraba have experienced repeated security concerns, including reports of armed attacks, killings and displacement. In November 2025, PUNCH reported that residents had raised an alarm over the alleged movement of suspected armed herders into Chanchanji Ward. The Taraba State Police Command said at the time that it had received the report and begun an investigation.
