ATIKU WANTS TO LEAVE NIGERIA BETTER THAN HE MET IT, OKONKWO SAYS GOD MAY JUDGE HIS LEGACY

By NaijaParrot October 24, 2026 | Politics

Kenneth Okonkwo, spokesperson for former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar’s presidential campaign, has reportedly praised Atiku’s determination to leave Nigeria in a better condition than he found it.

According to a statement circulating in the media, Okonkwo said Atiku was determined to make a lasting contribution to the country, adding that he could face questions from God if he died without improving Nigeria.

The reported remark places emphasis on leadership, public service and the responsibility of political officeholders to leave a positive legacy for future generations.

Atiku, who served as Nigeria’s vice-president from 1999 to 2007, is seeking the presidency ahead of the 2027 general election under the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Okonkwo has recently defended Atiku’s leadership record and urged opposition parties to unite behind him and other opposition figures to challenge President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2027.

However, NaijaParrot could not independently verify the exact wording of the quotation in the circulating image.
