ALHAJA KAOLA RECOUNTS PAINFUL MARRIAGE EXPERIENCE, ALLEGES EX-HUSBAND DEMANDED MONEY BEFORE INTIMACY

Popular Nigerian Islamic broadcaster, Alhaja Kafilat Rufai, widely known as Alhaja Kaola, has opened up about some of the painful experiences she allegedly endured during her former marriage, revealing that she sometimes had to pay her husband before he agreed to be intimate with her. The broadcaster made the disclosure during a recent interview in which she reflected on difficult moments in the relationship and the emotional experiences that followed its breakdown.

According to Kaola, intimacy in the marriage allegedly came with regular financial demands from her former husband, whom she claimed would not agree to sleep with her until she had made certain payments.

Describing the experience as deeply upsetting, she suggested that the arrangement made her feel as though she was financially purchasing her husband’s willingness to be intimate.

Recounting how the alleged arrangement worked, Kaola claimed that the payments were made regularly, sometimes through multiple banking channels. She explained that the transactions were not always conducted with physical cash, alleging that bank transfers and cheques were used to complete the payments.

In her account, she said the arrangement occurred repeatedly, describing it as a weekly experience during the marriage. Her disclosure has attracted attention because of the unusual financial circumstances she described and the wider questions it raises about trust, financial expectations and emotional well-being within marital relationships.

Beyond the financial allegations, Kaola also recounted another experience she described as particularly painful. She accused her former husband of recording a private intimate moment between them and subsequently making the video public following a disagreement.

The broadcaster said the incident caused her considerable emotional distress, especially because she alleged that the recording was made during a private moment that should have remained confidential.

She also recalled an occasion when the man with whom she had children allegedly questioned the paternity of one of their children. Kaola described the experience as one of the most painful moments of her life.

The broadcaster’s revelations have renewed conversations about the challenges some people experience in marriage, including financial pressure, broken trust, emotional distress and the protection of personal privacy. Her allegation concerning the distribution of a private recording also raises serious concerns about consent and the right to privacy within intimate relationships.

However, the claims remain Kaola’s account of events. Her former husband’s response was not included in the reports reviewed, and the allegations have not been independently established.

Despite the painful experiences she recounted, Kaola expressed her belief that her life remains guided by God’s plan. Her decision to speak publicly has brought renewed attention to her personal experiences and generated discussion among audiences familiar with her work as an Islamic broadcaster.
