ADELEKE’S CAMP TARGETS 1.5 MILLION VOTES FOR TINUBU AS APGA BACKS SOLUDO’S CAMPAIGN ROLE

 OSOGBO, OSUN STATE —

The Imole Campaign Council (TICC) of Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has pledged to mobilise 1.5 million votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election, following Adeleke’s appointment as Osun State Coordinator of Tinubu’s re-election campaign. The pledge came after the All Progressives Congress (APC) unveiled its revised 2027 Presidential Campaign Council membership on Tuesday, October 13, listing Adeleke and Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo among the state coordinators.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, TICC Director-General Senator Olalere Oyewumi welcomed Adeleke’s appointment, describing it as well deserved. Oyewumi said the council was confident that the governor would justify the confidence placed in him by Tinubu, promising that Accord Party structures across Osun State would mobilise support for the President’s re-election. The council reiterated its target of delivering 1.5 million votes for Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election. It also urged Osun residents to continue supporting Adeleke, linking the governor’s political direction to the council’s call for support for Tinubu.

Adeleke contested and won the August 2026 Osun governorship election on the platform of the Accord Party, defeating APC candidate Bola Oyebamiji. His appointment to coordinate Tinubu’s campaign in Osun has drawn attention because he is not an APC member. However, Adeleke has previously expressed support for Tinubu’s second-term ambition, explaining that he wants federal infrastructure projects in the South-West completed. His involvement in the campaign council does not, by itself, mean he has defected to the APC.

Meanwhile, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has welcomed the inclusion of its national leader, Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State, in Tinubu’s 2027 Presidential Campaign Council. APGA National Publicity Secretary Ejimofor Opara said Soludo’s appointment reflected his advocacy for strategic cooperation between Anambra State and the Federal Government. The party also reaffirmed its position in support of Tinubu’s re-election, saying it had adopted him as its preferred presidential candidate for 2027. According to APGA, the partnership is intended to promote cooperation with the Federal Government on infrastructure and economic development while the party continues to contest legislative seats in Anambra State.

Under the revised campaign structure, Soludo has been named coordinator of Tinubu’s presidential campaign in Anambra State, while Adeleke will coordinate activities in Osun. FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has also been assigned to coordinate the campaign in the Federal Capital Territory and Rivers State. The appointments bring politicians from different political parties into the same campaign structure ahead of the 2027 general election.

The pledges from Adeleke’s campaign council and APGA highlight the cross-party alliances emerging ahead of the next presidential election. However, TICC’s 1.5 million-vote figure remains a political target rather than a guaranteed outcome. The actual number of votes Tinubu receives in Osun will depend on voter participation and the choices Nigerians make at the polls.
