ADELEKE NAMED OSUN COORDINATOR AS TINUBU’S 2027 APC PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN COUNCIL UNVEILS MEMBERS

 ABUJA, NIGERIA — 

Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, has been listed as the Osun State Coordinator in the newly announced membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid. According to the campaign council’s published list, Adeleke is among the political figures assigned responsibilities to coordinate activities across the country ahead of the 2027 presidential election. The development is notable because Adeleke is associated with the Accord Party, although he has publicly expressed support for Tinubu’s second-term ambition. His inclusion in the campaign structure does not, by itself, establish that he has defected to the APC.

The published list also names former Osun State Governor, Chief Adebisi Akande, and former Osun State Deputy Governor, Senator Iyiola Omisore, among the advisers to the presidential campaign council. Their inclusion brings experienced political figures from Osun State into the campaign structure as preparations gather momentum ahead of the next general election. 

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is listed as Chairman of the campaign council, while former Zamfara State Governor, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, has been named Director-General. Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma is listed as Secretary, while other political leaders and public officials have been assigned responsibilities covering mobilisation, election planning, logistics, infrastructure and sensitisation. The document identifies Senator Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru, PhD, as the APC National Secretary who signed the list. 

 The inauguration of the PBAT/APC 2027 Presidential Campaign Council is scheduled as follows: 

 * Date: Wednesday, October 14, 2026 

* Time: 11:00 a.m. 

* Venue: Banquet Hall, Presidential Villa, Abuja. 

The inauguration is expected to formalise the council’s structure and provide a platform for coordinating political mobilisation and campaign activities ahead of the 2027 presidential election.  

The inclusion of political figures associated with different parties reflects the broader political realignments taking place ahead of the 2027 elections. Adeleke previously declared support for Tinubu’s re-election, but his campaign organisation has maintained that the governor’s endorsement should not be interpreted as evidence of a plan to defect from the Accord Party to the APC. The newly released list is therefore likely to attract attention as Nigerians follow developments involving party affiliations, political alliances and preparations for the next presidential contest.
