October 9, 2026 ABUJA, NIGERIA —

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s campaign for re-election in the 2027 general election is scheduled to kick off in Kaduna State on October 24, according to Senator Abdulaziz Yari, Director-General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council. Yari disclosed the date on Friday after meeting with Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, where discussions reportedly focused on preparations for the ruling party’s campaign.

APC PREPARES FOR PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN

Yari said the Presidential Campaign Council would hold its inaugural meeting on October 14 ahead of the Kaduna campaign launch. He also identified Port Harcourt and Maiduguri as among the locations expected to feature in subsequent campaign activities, adding that the full itinerary would be announced after the council’s inauguration. The campaign is expected to be coordinated by the APC Presidential Campaign Council as the party prepares to present the Tinubu administration’s record to voters ahead of the 2027 election.

APC PLANS TO CAMPAIGN ON GOVERNMENT’S RECORD

Yari defended the administration’s policies, arguing that the APC would focus on what it considers its achievements rather than making promises without reference to its record in office. He also expressed confidence in the party’s political reach across Nigeria’s northern and southern regions. His remarks came amid growing preparations by political parties and candidates for the 2027 presidential contest.

 2027 ELECTION CAMPAIGNS GATHER MOMENTUM

The planned Kaduna event marks a major step in the APC’s preparations to seek another term for Tinubu and Vice-President Kashim Shettima. Opposition parties are also organising their campaign structures and consultations ahead of the election. The contest is expected to focus on the economy, security, cost of living and the performance of the current administration. The scheduled campaign launch does not determine the election outcome, which will depend on the votes cast and the official results declared by the relevant electoral authorities.

NaijaParrot will continue to monitor campaign developments and report verified updates as the 2027 election approaches. NaijaParrot
